Paper Dreams: The Surreal Shores of Belonging
“Paper Dreams: The Surreal Shores of Belonging” is a 3D animated surrealistic film. The film follows a young girl as she embarks on an adventure, navigating surreal landscapes and internal conflict as she questions where she truly belongs. By combining my technical skills with my unique artistic vision, I created an atmospheric film that explores a journey of self-discovery. Using tools like Unreal Engine, Maya, Houdini, Marvelous Designer, I was able to craft a visually immersive experience that blends cutting-edge technology with my personal aesthetic. My technical expertise in 3D modeling, animation, and simulation brought the world to life, while my artistic sensibility ensured that every scene conveyed the emotional depth and nuance of her journey.
Jean Paul Gaultier Interior Decor Design Project
During my time work at Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris, I had the unique opportunity to blend the worlds of fashion and interior design. Drawing on Gaultier's iconic approach to bold, avant-garde aesthetics, I brought a fashion-forward sensibility to the design of spaces and textiles. This role allowed me to translate the designer's vision—characterized by striking patterns, luxurious textures, and an eclectic mix of elements—into dynamic interior concepts and custom-designed fabrics. By infusing interiors with the same creativity and artistry found on the runway, I was able to create environments that were as expressive and stylistically daring as Gaultier's fashion collections.
Amber, Villa N°7 Tokyo
In translating Coy Howard’s Book The Thickening of Time into film, I aim to reflect the thematic tension between temporal distortion and emotional immediacy through a carefully crafted visual style. The process of working with the AMBER Villa N°7, Tokyo was a deeply immersive experience. The villa's design, with its striking use of amber tones, minimalist geometry, and harmonious integration with nature, became a central element in the film’s visual language. The rendering will lean heavily into a combination of naturalistic textures and dreamlike surrealism, echoing the fluidity of time in the book. The color palette will be integral to creating a sense of temporal instability—muted tones of gray and sepia will dominate the sequences that portray the past, evoking a sense of memory and nostalgia.
Pink & Yellow, Villa N°5 Los Angeles, California
In translating Coy Howard’s Book The Thickening of Time into film. The centerpiece, the Pink Yellow Villa N°5 in Los Angeles, is more than just a physical space; it becomes a symbol of change and memory. Working on the renderings and film, I focused on capturing the villa's architectural essence—a delicate balance of vibrant colors, clean geometric lines, and organic curves—while emphasizing its cinematic qualities. The colors, particularly the pinks and yellows, became not just a design choice but a way to evoke mood and memory, as light shifts throughout the day, creating a constant ebb and flow of time.
Red, Villa N°3 New York, New York
In translating Coy Howard’s book The Thickening of Time into film was a deeply personal and creative endeavor, especially when working with the Red Villa N°3 in New York. The villa’s bold use of red tones, combined with its modernist design and interplay with the urban landscape, provided a striking foundation for both the renderings and the cinematic vision of the project. As I worked on the film adaptation, I focused on capturing the villa's powerful presence, emphasizing the contrast between its sleek lines and the surrounding city's dynamic energy. The aesthetic of the design is anchored in the vibrancy of the red hues, which shift throughout the film in response to the changing light, creating a dynamic interplay of warmth and intensity.
